Vogue Paris' November 2009 beauty editorial takes fashion magazine beauty to a rather esoteric (and realistically unwearable) place. It's unusual to come across makeup imagery from a fashion mag that goes here... so I had to share. I'm sure that many of you will express some strong opinions. source: fashiongonerogue.com
The point of my posting these images isn't to suggest this, or for you to "like" it... it's just for you to LOOK... and to look further into the images than how you feel about it.
Image #1, below? Look at those rich, gorgeous deep metallic colors across model Anja Rubik's forehead. Do it on your eyes! Make it wearable...

Lately, I've seen a lot of unconventional use of false lashes in my internet follies (Here's just one example, from my Tumblr feed). This image trumps all of the ones I've seen... but here's my reason for posting this. If you have not tried false lashes, do it! Just for fun, for a night out, anything!

No, I'm not suggesting you leave the house with smeared lipstick... but I AM suggesting that you try a purplish or berry lipstick with minimal eye makeup and let your lips make a statement!

Is Miss K suggesting that you leave the house with streaks of makeup running down you neck? Of course not! Use this image as a starting place for something beautiful. Build on it.

Gasp! I was going to leave this image from the editorial out, because I knew it would elicit a string of "What ARE you thinking, that's hideous' comments. But then, I thought... "Who cares? I'm not suggesting that you walk around with your hair and makeup like this... rather, just look at the colors. The short dark nails, Think berry, or purple or even about your hair. Don't take anything at face value. Look further. Think outside the box and the ideas will flow!
