I personally love “burnout” velvet fabrics, where a pattern is “burned out” from the fabric background, which is often a contrasting shade. These velvets are lightweight, and they move and drape- perfect for scarves, skirts and bias cut dresses.
This Fall’s fashion runways featured velvet, but it was dominant at Prada, where luxe dresses in burgundies, plums and cocoa velvet reigned supreme.
I think the perfect eye to pair with velvet would be comprised of Aromaleigh Eye Plush and/or Bete Noire lines… depending on what your lipcolor is.
The velvety and dramatic Bete Noire Eye Collection:
A red or berry lip does well with a more neutral eye, and the Eye Plush line provides a soft sheen in a variety of neutral and soft-hued shades.
A softer, more natural lip can handle a more dramatic eye. The delicious, velvety and complex shades of the Bete Noire collection, whether used sparingly or dramatically- are a perfect pairing with anything velvet!
