Just some pics from our Halloween fun! We can't trick or treat in our neighborhood as literally- we are one of 2 families under the age of 40. Well, we could trick or treat. But no one would answer the door, and we wouldn't get any candy... we'd be more likely to have security called on us.
SO, every year we go to a neighborhood called Ashton Cove. The residents there are truly spirited in their Halloween decorating. It's the 4th year we've gone there and it's always a good time, although last night it was so over-run with really rude, loud and pushy teenagers and college kids (there was an entire sorority there!)- that a lot of little kids and toddlers were getting skimped on their candy and jostled in the stampede of boys dressed in speedos and girls dressed in costumes that left little (if anything) to the imagination. Some parents (myself included) were just a little more than annoyed... but, all in all, it was a fun night!!!
I took lots of pictures of the decor to show you, and last night Connor and I had a great time photoshopping the images of us as Princess Leia and Jango Fett into a space-age fight sequence. Scroll onward!

Now on to our costumes... Connor really wanted to go as a Star Wars character this year, and wanted me to be Princess Leia or Queen Amidala. I loved the Amidala costume, but half of it was a mask to create the makeup. Yuck. I wasn't into that and knew I wouldn't have time to recreate her makeup. So, I opted for the traditional Princess Leia "New Hope" costume, as opposed to the version with waist high slits and thigh high white platform go-go boots, that is...
I didn't think I'd have to wear much makeup. BUT, when I started changing, I realized that I'd need a lot more color in my face, contouring, thicker eyebrows, fuller glossy lips and serious dose of shimmery glow to look like a fresh-faced princess about to save the galaxy...
I didn't get any closeup shots because we were in a rush to get there (parking is insane, to say the least!), but Steven shot some images of us in front of the garage door and we had some fun posing and play-fighting. It was 80 F out and very humid, so we were roasting by the time we got going...
Here's one of the original shots, in front of our garage door.

After we got home, we uploaded the images from my camera and I realized that we were so crisp against the garage door that I could easily photoshop us against a space-age background, within minutes. So I did!
Here's Princess Leia vs. Jango Fett (which I know is technically impossible, if you're a Star Wars geek- but hey, we were just playing around. I know my lightsaber shouldn't be that color, too... Connor gave me a hassle about it and (gasp) accused me of being a Sith. How dare he!?)
Have fun... we did! (You can see these big, along with a lot more Halloween pics, at my Flickr album....)

Hope you all had a fun and Happy Halloween! I've never done a makeup collection for Halloween. Maybe next year...
Boy, was that wig super itchy. Wish my cinnamon buns were bigger, too...
On that note,
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
