Heather on Rocks! Sonic Eyes:
I purchased a bunch of sample baggies back in April. I first discovered Aromaleigh through my favorite music artist, Emilie Autumn.
So when I received my items, which all arrived in a timely manner. I was so excited that I nearly tore open into the goodies like it was Christmas!
Sonic Eyes colors are so vibrant and beautiful. I use a bit of my Urban Decay primer potion beneath the shadow to make it pop more, though with Sonic Eyes, it really isn't necessary because they're so bold that they really pop.
I've also received a lot of compliments since using this product, I would definitely recommend it to anyone, willing to turn a few heads!PROS:Vibrant, bold, beautiful, and an array of colors to choose from.
LErin on Pure Eyes Frost:
I have used Passion for years. It is one of my staple colors that gets used alot. I have green/hazel eyes, auburn brown hair and my skin is fair/porcelain. This color really makes my green eyes stand out. Glides on smoothly with beautiful color pay off. Not too sparkly or glittery just right great color:) Other favs are: Gilt, Mocha, Glow, Hazelnut and Desire.
PROS: Great smooth consistency soft frost great for everyday
Andrea on Jojoba lipgloss base:
Amazing Product, 5-Star Worthy! When I recieved this product, I was skeptical. It looked sticky, gummy and well, just like a regular clear gloss. I was honestly thinking " If this is crap, you get what you pay for! "( as the price is really cheap!!! )
I decided to give it a go, and mix a colour ( Zinfandel) into it, and when I put the mixture on, I LOVED it! YES it is a bit sticky, but even after eating, there was still a film of colour and gloss left on my lips, and it still sparkled. I was VERY pleased. It has no flavour, which is, I guess good and bad, because you can add your own flavour to the mix, but personally I don't know how.
In all, it is a great product and I would ( and have) recommend it to a friend!PROS: -Thick formula lasts longer!
-Crystal clear, so the colour you add is the colour you get!
CONS: -Slightly sticky.
Bhevarri on "Nuance" Color Infusion Botanical Lipstick:
I recieved a sample of nuance as an extra sample with my order and thought, "oh that'll look awful on me. Oh well, i guess ill just try it anyway"
then.. WOW! It looked so gorgeous. It's just like my lipcolor but a little darker and shimmery. It has a smell to it that I cant decide if I like or not, but it isnt unpleasant, just.. different.
I've already ordered a full size!PROS: Looks gorgeous
feels great
moisturizesCONS: smells a little strange
Ashley on "Foxglove" Satin Petals Frost:
This color is nice and natural; having been a fan of slightly heavier makeup, I didn't realize it was possible to look so good with neutrals! Wow. I love the finish on this shadow, too; it's soft and shimmery, and reminds me of the Eye Plushes. By the way, it goes well with Buttoned Up. The one drawback to this color is that right now, with my lingering late-summer tan (I wear 3Y with a dusting of Coquille Vert), it might be too close to my skin color. Either way, I will definitely consider sampling more from this collection.
PROS: Shimmery finish reminds me of the Plushes
CONS: Doesn't show up very well on my tanned skin
Ashley on Coquille Finishing Powder:
I tried Nectarine as an under-eye concealer for a while. It didn't do too badly. I used it on my cheeks once, though, and ugh. Of course, I later found out that my Level 3-to-4 olive skin is of the cool variety; no wonder it didn't work.
Rose I also got for underneath my eyes, but it appeared too dark. I've tried it on my cheeks and wasn't that impressed, but I might give it another try in the future.
Vert, I like. Because of my aforementioned cool tones, it can be a real pain finding a foundation that works; even 3Y is slightly off from my neck (which looks greenish). A dusting of Vert over my foundation helps fix that. If I get brave enough, I might mix some into my foundation. Yay for solutions!
Morgenstern on Smoothie Flocked Sponge:
I love these sponges, they are infinitely better than those awful rubbery triangular things from the drugstore! There's nothing like pulling one fresh from the package and smoothing it over your face, it's so soft and velvety and plush. I've never been much for brushes and this was one of the first things I bought on this site and have been using them to apply my silk and Voile ever since, it gives me great coverage and they wash well too. I also appreciate the included carrying pouch so it doesn't get outside particulate on it when you travel, it's so convenient, just slip it in it's little envelope and throw it in with the rest of your makeup!
Pam on Elemental Lustre Collection:
When I first started wearing Aromaleigh eye shadows, I ordered a few of the Elemental Lustre colors, but never really wore them because I thought they might be too flashy for me. But one day, I decided to try Awe as a lid color and *WOW* I was so surprised at how gorgeous it made my eyes look. Slowly, I've been building my collection of these beauties...I still have some I want to try, but these are the ones I love: Awe, Entangle, Flash, and Spark are stunning for lid colors. Underworld, Abyss, and Blast are gorgeous and moody colors for the crease. But the one that has taken me by surprise is Pyro...I would have NEVER thought that I could wear such a color! It is the most brilliant (but not over the top) shiny kind of burnt copper I have seen and is now one of my new favorites as an allover lid color. By the way, I have brown eyes and brown hair. I am also 37 years old so my lids can tend to look aged with the wrong shadow. I apply these shadows by first using Aromaleigh's Eye and Lip Primer. Then with my brush, I pat the shadow on my lid. I don't put it on with long swipes of the brush or it somehow brings out my eye lid wrinkles and looks ugly. Patting it on gently just gives it a smooth and perfectly shiny surface. The light shines on these eye shadows in such a way that my eyes look a bit younger and brighter. If you're on the fence about these shadows, just try a few samples and I think you'll really be surprised at how beautiful they really are.
Just Me on Elemental Lustre Collection:
Out of this World!!! These are FABULOUS!!! The best metallics I have ever laid hands on! They look like liquid metal once applied, and they go on like silk. They are truly amazing. I bought Fume, Startle, Astonish, and Gleam. Fume is a true silver shade. It makes it look like you have sterling eyelids! Startle is a unique color. Its silver, but, at the same time, slightly copper, and yet again, a little goldish. I love it. Astonish is a wonderful very light shade of gold. Almost like if you took yellow gold and mixed it with white gold. Its awesome. Gleam is a very bright true yellow gold! Its beautiful. They make outrageous eyeliners too!Try some samples. I promise you will be back for the full sizes. Next on my shopping list is Pyro, Entangle, and Fraud!
PROS: Apply like silk.
True metallic sheen.
Extremely blendable.CONS: A little hard to blend with other regular colors.
Teresa on Les Papillons LE Collection:
Kristen and Connor - *applause* - GREAT job!!! What a lovely, happy, charming, crayola-deluxe-box eye shadow palette! Do you need some blue skies and sunshine? These colors will take you there....
As any good and faithful Aromaleigh old-timer collector would do, I first ordered the full sample set, then limited myself to 7 in full size, mixing it up with some great daily basic colors and some most unique fun colors.
And now it's my personal hope that Connor will consider going into the family biz one day so as to insure generations to come with world-class, top-drawer Aromaleigh products.PROS: What you see is what you get - WONDERFUL color pay-off.
CONS: Cons? Well, I'm sorely tempted to order 4 more in full size - does that count? Many thanks to you both, Kristen and Connor!!!
Kris on "Tea" from Opulent Lustre Collection:
The swatches and descriptions do not do this color justice. I've kept putting off trying this collection because they didn't look like anything special, but boy was I wrong. This color really looks like it's "lit from within", it glows with such a wonderful shimmery light. It's a soft green, but it's still vibrant enough to look stunning. I'm going to have to try all the colors now.
PROS: soft, vibrant green
long wearing
Cat on Aromatherapy Lip Balm:
The ultimate lip balm. Okay, I've tried many different lipbalms-- both the icky petroleum-based ones as well as the more natural, beeswax-based balms. After trying the beeswax balms from other brands, I had thought I had finally settled with a decent lipbalm. That was BEFORE receiving a free sample of this stuff in one of my orders. WOW. It just kind of melts on your mouth-- not sticky, gooey, or waxy, just this smooth layer of balm that feels oh-so-good. My lips were looking kinda cracked and flaky, but within two days they were back to being soft and healthy looking.
I used up my sample in no time and just had ti go get a full-sized tube. Soon, I found myself reaching into my purse and pulling my lipbalm out, even though I actually didn't need it-- I just liked the way it felt! I've never been this way about a lip product before. My brother actually calls it my "crack" gloss because of the way I'm always reaching into my purse for it. Speaking of gloss, if you apply it with a lip brush, it also give a nice glossy look to your lips without that overwhelming I-just-ate-a-tub-of-petroleum-jelly look.
As far as its shelf-life...I don't think that's going to be of much concern at all. I'm lucky if it'll last me a month before I have to go and buy some more.PROS: Nice scents, great for your lips.
CONS: It'saddictive.
Brooke on Cream Concealer:
Perfect Consistancy, Excellent Coverage! I am not a huge fan of concealer normally, it would either settle into the few fine lines that I have around my eyes, making them quite noticeable or just get cakey.. But I thought that I would give a few sample colors of this a whirl since I have loved all of the other AL products so much.. All I have to say is WOW! This wonderfully creamy products softend with the warmth from my fingers and just blended right into my skin! It stayed velvetly and smooth all day, making me look bright eyed, well rested! I probably could have went without the mineral foundation too, and maybe just some finishing powder, but either way, it is a must have for under the eyes and any other flaws that need some covering!!
Joanna on Chocolat Pure Eyes Matte:
I love the neutral brown shade, but I found it so hard to blend! I've tried a few things to make this lovely brown blend a bit more, but it won't really budge like I'd like it to. So, I would assume if you have oily lids or have a problem with eyeshadow creasing, you may want this. This stuff STICKS - which can be both a good and bad thing!
PROS: Lovely shade, stays put
CONS: stays put a bit TOO much!
Joanna on Color Infusion Botanical Lipstick:
Now I know how the lipstick got its name - it IS perfect! I first got this as a sample and I actually pushed it aside. Nearly 5 months later, I came across it while I was moving and decided to put it on. "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE?!", I thought. I am VERY fond of my red lipstick, but this is a wonderful alternative for when I need to tone things down or don't have the time for proper red lipstick prep. It's neutral, goes with anything, and brightens my face up. Also, if you accidentally smear it, it's not noticeable. It's like a happy medium between a chapstick and a lipstick. I love it! I ordered a full sized tube recently and I'm loving the slim tube for easy application. Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner!!
PROS: Versatile, neutral, smells good, slim tube for easy application
CONS: That not all lipsticks are this good!
Laughing Muse on Le Orchidee Limited Edition Eyeshadows:
Zinnia looks like a pretty enough peachy-pink shimmer - but it has a blue iridescence that really makes this color a must-have. Wear the color dry, or buff it heavily, to minimize the blue flash. Wear it wet, or applied over a cream shadow, to show off the iridescent flash. Bumblebee is another color like this: bright cheery yellow base with a blue flash that can be left as-is, or maximized.
Laughing Muse on Gothic Lolita Color Creme:
I received samples of Wallflower and Shortcake, and decided to buy Shortcake in fullsize. I also decided to give Melancholia a try. Shortcake is a wonderful mid-neutral pink with a slight blue iridescence. When I received Melancholia, I was taken aback - thought it would be too dark on me, and it looked a bit darker than I had imagined it might be. But it looks really good!! If you're worried about the colors being too dark, order samples - you may also be pleasantly surprised.
Fair skin, caramel-brown hair, blue-grey eyesPROS: Great colors
Easy application
Won't dry my lipsCONS: Color doesn't "stay" too long
Jessica on Twilight Supernatural Face & Body Powder:
I really love this. Just enough glow effect for me. I don't like when it is glittering a lot, this just give a hint of glow and make me look otherworldly. As usual, a little goes a long way.
Susaned on "Wonderland" Gothic Lolita Eyeshadow:
Love this shade! Gray shadows can sometimes wash out my blue eyes, but the coppery pink shimmers warm it up a bit. This is one of my everyday colors.
Joanna on "Satin Laces" Gothic Lolita Eyeshadow:
I love this shade - it's my go-to shade to add a little glamor to my day! Great as an all-over color or a brow highlighter, this shade can really do no wrong. I've actually done eye makeup for a few friends with different shades of skin than mine (i'm super pale) and it seems to work on everyone. It looked GORGEOUS on my native american best friend. Everyone that i've tried it on has bought it!
PROS: Versatile, a great highlighter, beautiful dry & wet
CONS: be careful applying - it can be a bit too sparkly if you over do it!
