Transparency (behavior)
Transparency, as used in the humanities and in a social context more generally, implies openness, communication, and accountability.
The debate over mineral makeup repackaging continues...
Yes, I started a movement called the "Mineral Makeup Mutiny" to raise the creative bar for the indie small mineral makeup companies and to give consumers more of what they want. Unique, creative, proprietary blends of mineral makeup from companies that are actually making their own makeup. (and yep, I did "apply" the MMM badge to Aromaleigh after I had awarded it to all of the companies in my email queue... I'm eagerly awaiting for more companies to step forward, but I fear that some are quite literally "In fear of fear")
Someone recently emailed me and asked me how, or why- I could bestow this badge upon my own business and suggested that it seemed wrong or shady. Perfectly acceptable question. I'm financially shouldering the hosting and domain costs for the movement, as well as performing all admin, design, programming and promotion of the movement to improve the industry. Heck, if I wanted to put a giant Aromaleigh banner ad on the site, I rightfully could... but I wouldn't. Because it's not about promoting my company, and I haven't done that. What I have done is placed the badge on my site and blog because I am formulating unique, original products and I've formulated hundreds of eyeshadow colors that are distinct, proprietary colors. I think I deserve the right to list Aromaleigh as a company that is fulfilling all of the standards of an authentic and original formulator of mineral cosmetics.
Let's look back over a few years of blog posts and Aromaleigh photo files and have a little sparkle party to the in-progress images of hundreds of new eyeshadow shades. Aromaleigh has always been "transparent" (love that word lately... especially when it applies to calcium aluminum borosilicate) in how we operate. To suggest (as I have read) that we are a repackager is not only just plain silly, it's insane.
